He goes before me

Lately I've been feeling discouraged.
The thing is, I'm a perfectionist. And I'm hard on myself, even though I know I shouldn't be.
I am still waiting and learning to trust (though not always patiently) for Him to show me where He wants me to go. I know I shouldn't get bogged down.

But I can escape these thoughts-through Him.
I can to Him go to anytime I want; I have a beautiful family; I'm blessed with talents in music and being able to serve Him through that, along with many other things I am still learning.
I'm also blessed to be encouraged, as I am through the faithful preaching of the Word every Sunday; through talking with my parents; by reading His Word and other books; and by reading other people's blogs. (thanks, guys!)

I'm reading Deuteronomy, about when Moses reminded the people of what God had done for them and how they rebelled. (Chapter 1:19) But the verses that really struck me were when Israel was afraid because of the greatness of the people they had to fight against.
And Moses reminded them, vs 29-33(ESV):

"Then I said to you, 'Do not be in dread or afraid of them. The Lord your God who goes before you will Himself fight for you, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness, where you have seen how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place. Yet in spite of this word you did not believe the Lord your God, who went before you in the way to seek you out a place to pitch your tents, in fire by night and in the cloud by day, to show you by what way you should go."

I'm not saying that God has to give me signs to prove He is there, but it is beautiful to be reminded of His goodness to me- as He has "carried me" throughout my life.
He goes before me and He has a plan for my life.
How comforting!
